Hydrological studies for the control of stormwater require an intuitive understanding of the fundamental principles associated with the area's meteorological, topographical and geological factors. Designing for the maximum discharge is usually not economically feasible. Therefore, detailed review and experienced judgement are required to establish an appropriate balance in size and economics.

Accurate review of project sites and drainage basins has resulted in the successful design and completion of numerous projects.
