Champlin Hollow Bridge

This new bridge was a replacement for an old single span, steel stringer structure with an asphalt deck in the Ceres Township of McKean County.  The new bridge is a single span prestressed concrete box beam structure with a reinforced concrete deck.  The new bridge has a span of 29.7 ft and is approximately 22 ft wide between the reinforced concrete and steel rail barriers.  The abutments and wingwalls are constructed of reinforced concrete.  The new bridge will be capable of carrying all loads permitted in PA.  A temporary roadway was constructed immediately downstream of the bridge location to allow traffic to cross during the replacement project.  It was completed in 2007 at a cost of $517,561.29.
